Hey I know there a billion posts about this, but everything I have read says redo your HD with the AID. Believe me, I would LOVE to

Current WORKING setup: chameleon + x2_5035_vOld_512k.bin bios + 250 HD

Upgrading to 400HD (formated NTFS--shouldn't matter). I put in disc with old HD and the AID starts up, I hook up the new drive and err 21. Yes I KNOW its needs the dash as its an empty drive. Why is AID not booting up with new HD but fine w/old HD? I have tried jumpers empty, cable select, master, n slave. Is the bios not loading the disc first? It loads up first just fine w/old HD. FYI Seagate 400 gb.

Thanks for any thoughts you may have on this n taking the time to read this.

sounds like your xbox is trying to access the dashboard ( probally to set the clock) . Boot up with the old drive and set the clock in the dash and then ( keeping it plugged in ) put the new hard drive in and boot up .

If that does not work than preformat the drive with xboxhdm on your pc and install the dash etc. .

Good luck .
