I'm about to buy a new Xbox and I want to buy a game for me and my daughter (aged 14) to play (I can't afford to buy two games). What one should I buy? I like first player games but she like platform/sim games. Any advice appreciated.

If violence in games bothers you, I don't recommend Halo.
X-Box doesn't have good cutesy games like Mario.

There's a new game called Blinx. It's one of the few games that isn't rated Mature. It's actually pretty cool!

Halo is WWWWWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYY overrated! dont get me wrong, its good, but u try having a PC when the ONLY decent games on them are FPS. i get sick of them.... although the multiplayer is excellent. For the kids i'd buy Mad Dash Racer ... my brother who is 13, is never off it! Or Dead Or Alive 3 ... best graphics and playability ... ever

Dead Or Alive 3 is a great choice if you like to play with your friends.
NFL Blitz 2003 is pretty sweet.
Jedi Star Fighter is a blast.

if your daughter wants a good, non-violent platformer then Crash Bandicoot is great. its is a port from PS2, but, like most games, is better on the xbox. great fun, for kids and adults. but you can always go with what everyone else is saying, and what i did that secured my decision of buying an xbox, and get HALO. great game. when i loaded it up for the first time it was probably the most impressive thing i had ever layed my eyes on. and it has the gameplay to back it up.

I would go for crach bandicoot for a 14 year old female and i like to play it some times as well.

Halo still sucks for me and guess what i installed turok yesterday and and it has the same stupid controlls as halo!!!

I would like both these games to support a mouse as i have tried and i can hot get my brain around those controlls.

Also Splashdown is a great 2 player game if you and your daughter like jet skie's.
If you like tennis then sega slam tennis is great
If all else fails buy Tetris Worlds but watch out as she will beat you every time jester.gif
