I want to get a modchip for my xbox, Xtender is the only one I can get in my area (I don't know soldering & don't want to install myself). I also want to put a bigger hdd in, (so I'll have to flash) which I'm confident in doing after reading the guides & I have read the guide on how to flash the xbox bios with a xtender.

When I get the guy to install the xtender, is it alright to get him to solder the points (MCPX RD# OE# & WR# WE#) before I go home & install evox?? Is that the best way to go?

So all I would have to do is install evox to hdd, boot evox, cut wires 10 + 19, flash BIOS in evox.

The installer said knows nothing about flashing the BIOS. Only installing the chip.[B]

If you have someone experienced doing it, and they WILL do it, I suggest making switches for ALL those points.

I would say once you flash your bios, you don't want it to be done easily again (say by M$), but you would like to have the ability to DO IT again at some point... use a switch(es)... wire 10 & 19 put in a switch (what I did)... it's effecient and you never know when you might want to use your modchip again.

If this guy is soldering, he can handle the switches I'm sure... I did it myself, but then again... I'm an electrician on airplanes...

Just my suggestion...
