So I've modded my xbox with a xenium s.p.i.c.e. I'm following the tutorials to the letter but my x box still can't read anything on the cd-rw (sony made).
Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Here's some additional info:
1. I'm using nero and all the settings are as they should be.
2. I've tried to flash Evox and X2 4983-67 unsuccessfully.
3. My eeprom has been backed up to my xenium.
4. I have a dummy file that's about 100mb.
5. I'm burning the disc at 4x *the lowest my laptop will do it at*
6. I got my bios from the usual places.

What process are you using to flash the BIOS using the Xenium OS?

I'm writing my bios.bin + 100mb dummy file to a cd-rw then putting my disc into the xbox. I'm then trying to add a new item using the flash method on the xenium bios. When I select flash the next screen is blank as if there is nothing on the disc. I've gone back on my laptop to check if that's true and the files that I put in show up, so I know their on there. Oh and my xbox version is v1.0

yeah, but using a cd-rw seemed so much less complicated. All the tutorials I've read so far have used ftp after flashing an alternate bios.

Awesome I just found out that on an xbox v1.0 the dvd drive is really picky looks like I'm going to have to use something other than sony brand cd-rw's.
