If I accidentally have flux touching some components that it shouldn't be, can that cause it to frag? Is flux conductive?

I'm pretty sure I have good solder points on all my connections for a v1.0 xbox and Xecuter 2.6ce lite, but I still get 3 frags and then an error.

I have re-soldered 4 times now, and unless the flux is conductive, I think something else must be causing the problem.

Thanks in advance,

Yes, solder is highly conductive. If it connects 2 points, then it will cause the xbox to frag.

He was asking if the flux itself was conductive, not the solder.

I believe that flux can act as a conductor, Im not 100% certain though

The flux would be conductive IMO, since it is a weak acid, and acid is highly conductive.

flux isnt conductive, you just use it to make the solder flow better. or have it cleaner.

you really dont need flux to solder anything in the xbox. you can just take a brush and brush it off.

as for you fraggin.........check your d0 point

Oh, haha, I didnt read it to well. If you want to clean it, get a Q-tip and a bottle of rubbing alcohol (kind you find in your bathroom) and clean the points with it.
