Yes just type in the full path in the default area as below

QUOTE
    <music>
        <default>smb//....COMPUTERS NAME or ip address.../..SHARE FOLDER....</default>
        <bookmark>
            <name>C Drive</name>
            <path>C:\</path>
        </bookmark>
        <bookmark>
            <name>E Drive</name>
            <path>E:\</path>
        </bookmark>
        <bookmark>
            <name>F drive</name>
            <path>F:\</path>
        </bookmark>
        <bookmark>
            <name>G drive</name>
            <path>G:\</path>
        </bookmark>
        <bookmark>
            <name>DVD-ROM drive</name>
            <path>D:\</path>
        </bookmark>

The problem is if u have a problem with the network, xbmc will take along time to open my music. An alternative is to create a share as below

QUOTE
        <bookmark>
            <name>XBMSP Network Servers (Auto-Discover)</name>
            <path>xbms://</path>
        </bookmark>
        <bookmark>
            <name>SMB Network Share</name>
            <!--    You can use one of these following formats:  !-->
            <!-- smb://domain;user:password@ip/share/directory/  !-->
            <!-- smb://user:password@ip/share/                    !-->
            <!--    Only if guest/public access is enabled:      !-->
            <!-- smb://ip/                                        !-->
            <path>smb://DOMAIN;username:pwd@MyWindowsServer/music/</path>
        </bookmark>
        <bookmark>
            <name>My PC's Music</name>
            <path>smb://...ip...address../...folder....</path>
        </bookmark>

        <bookmark>
            <name>WORKGROUP (SMB) Network</name>
            <path>smb://</path>
        </bookmark>
        <bookmark>
            <name>MS Soundtracks</name>
            <path>soundtrack://</path>
        </bookmark>

Find a file called xboxmediacenter.xml in XBMC root folder where you also find the *.xbe file.

You need to edit your xboxmediacenter.xml file which is in your XBMC directory or in your C: drive if XBMC is used as a dashboard.

Go here and read this manual. All the answers are there.

First the purple lin with the tag <name> ...is what will appear... it can be anything ..name so that u know it is a folder in ur pc.

the important part is the <path>... section
after smb://.... u can either type in the name of the pc or its ip address.

make sure that the folders in ur pc are shared and named properly. You can go to my network places on ur PC to check if they appear there.

also checkout the link

You don't need the IP address; you can use the hostname of the computer.

<default> goes in the same place as <bookmark>, but you can only have one <default> per section.

Here's an excerpt from one of mine:

<video>
<default />
<bookmark>
<name>Zim</name>
<path>smb://username:password@zim/Media</path>
</bookmark>
</video>

<default /> is the same as writing <default></default>

If I wanted it to open at Zim, I'd write

<video>
<default>smb://username:password@zim/Media</default>
<bookmark>
<name>Zim</name>
<path>smb://username:password@zim/Media</path>
</bookmark>
</video>

You'd probably want something like

<video>
<default>smb://username:password@pot/Shared Movies</default>
<bookmark>
<name>Pot</name>
<path>smb://username:password@pot/Shared Movies</path>
</bookmark>
</video>

<music>
<default>smb://username:password@pot/Shared Music</default>
<bookmark>
<name>Pot</name>
<path>smb://username:password@pot/Shared Music</path>
</bookmark>
</music>

<pictures>
<default>smb://username:password@pot/Shared Pictures</default>
<bookmark>
<name>Pot</name>
<path>smb://username:password@pot/Shared Pictures</path>
</bookmark>
</pictures>

Note that a) you should probably upgrade from XP Home; it's shite b) XBMC doesn't like share names with spaces very much. You may have better luck if you take the spaces out c) Don't just cut and paste this, instead try to understand it and write your own.

Edit: autosmiley broke my 'b)'

What are you finding so difficult? Have you even tried anything anyone's suggested? What, if anything, were the results? What do you not understand about the XBoxMediaCenter.xml file? Do you not understand XML, maybe? Here's an introduction to how XML works: http://www.w3schools.../xml_syntax.asp

The structure of the bookmarks section of it is:

<pictures>, <videos>, <music> <-- these are the top-levels for 'my pictures', 'my videos', and 'my music'

Each of these contains 1 <default>, which is the path displayed when the screen is first opened, and 1 or more <bookmark>s, which contain <name>, the name displayed in the menu, and <path>, which takes the same format as in <default>. As has been explained to you roughly twenty-eight billion times already, the path you need is "smb://username:password@pot/my music". If you can't figure out from that what the path you need for your other two shares is, please remove your modchip, and stand on it.

If this has not helped, I can't help you anymore, and I don't think god himself could. In this thread, people have done everything but serve you a Martini while they set up your XBox for you, while you steadfastly refuse to think for yourself.

I can't help you with the first one, because your first snippet doesn't give enough context for me to tell where in the file it's from. In any case, the <bookmark> branches can be in any order you like; it doesn't matter if you add a <bookmark> above or below another one. The only time you'll see the difference is in 'my programs', wihch doesn't sort the bookmarks.

(Obviously, if you add your pictures bookmark inside <videos> instead of <pictures>, it will appear in 'my videos' instead of 'my pictures', and if you add it inside another <bookmarks> block, XBMC will not be able to understand the XML file.)

The strings 'username' and 'password' should be replaced with the username and password of the account on your computer you wish the XBox to use.

What kimgitz was warning about is that if you have an SMB path in a <default> tag, XBMC is going to try to access it when you open the screen ('my pictures','my videos', etc.) for the first time. If the server's off, you'll have to wait for the connection to time out. If you don't want it to do this, leave the <default> blank.
