Umm no, DVD-R is older and they cost less. They also are more compatible in dvd players, but the speed is slower to burn. DVD+R is newer technology, more expensive, faster burn speeds. But some dvd players dont read them.

...and Dvd-R burners burn -R disks, Dvd+R burners use +R disks... Dvd+/-R burners can burn both. -R disks are 'generally' more compatible with the xbox dvd drives.

excellent source of dvd info. give that a read if you want an explanation and a bit of a history lesson.

i bought a 100-pack of Taiyo Yuden dvd-r's at ncix.com for $40 CAD. You can find $30 100-packs at lots of places with generic brands too.

if you want to use dvd's for your xbox, dvd-r is your best bet.
