I have an Executioner 2.6ce installed on a 1.5 with a 160gb HDD dropped in. Everything has been working great for a month and I went to backup a game yesterday using PxHDD loader via Slayers and had some trouble after I have done it numerous times. When I start to backup to HDD it CREEPS and then looks like it locks up during backup. I gave it around 45 minutes and it was still on 6% done. Any ideas of how to solve this?

First of all, it's called Xecuter, not Xecutioner. Second of all, nobody uses PX HDD Loader anymore. We all use dvd2xbox, which is updated all the time, so it will fix any games that were previously un-backup-able <<LOL.

hehe, I always mispell Xecuter, don't ask why b/c I don't knwo. I'm did some more digging after I posted and I'm going to try the dvd2xbox when I get home. I'm hoping that it's a software problem and not a dvd-rom problem but all things point towards software.

I tried the dvd2xbox but it's still creeping(20 minutes to get 1% done). I'm thinking about reinstalling Slayers. Does anybody have another suggestion?

the game you are trying to backup is scratched or flawed in some way.

Yep, could be scratched.

Maybe your hdd isn't working correctly either (or your IDE cable).

Check the disc for scratches first. If that doesn't work, try switching IDE cables. If still no luck, FTP into your xbox and make a backup of your C and E drives onto your PC, then reformat and reinstall everything.

If still no luck... try a new hard drive.

it's happened with 3 different game discs sad.gif

I am going to check the IDE drive & cable and if that doesn't help go with the backup & reformat.

I went to double-check all of my wire connection and found a suprise inside. The board with the power source looks to have been possibly fried. The transistors have a white foam that has oozed out. I'm guessing a surge got through and friend the board? It's kinda odd though because everything works perfectly except backing up games. Anybody know if I got fried for sure?

thats a chemical applied during manufacturing to keep those components from vibrating during shipping.

anything on the power supply would not prevent you from backing up games.
