Metal Heat Shield Inside Xbox

I ordered a new clear xcm crystal clear xbox case and I was wondering if the metal heat shield shold be put back in when the case is swapped??

ppl have comented that it not for heat it for interference, so if u use it ur tv's won;t go ape shit

Yes, it's to shield the outside world from interference from your xbox.

Basically, it is not required for your xbox to function, but if you still want your xbox to meet FCC regulations, you should leave it in.

You could always paint it and stick it back into the crystal. wink.gif

well i noticed with my top off my xbox with my old TV it would get lots of interference when i just had it on with the lid off.

i dont bother, my xbox's are a fair way away from my TV.. no interferance even with the cases off biggrin.gif

i got a large amount of interference when i removed my shielding. i have heard many people that have no problems.

If you do take it off don't throw it away. Part of the reason I'm not getting a crystal is because I'd want to paint the shielding and I threw my top piece away... sad.gif

im pretty sure explosive2 sells the shielding for 1 dollar top and bottom each....

i have both xbox's beside my tv, one with the shielding and one without. i don't notice anything difference with my non-shielded box on.
