Proof Mgs4 Is Video

This was an attempt to claim that Hideo showed source code for MGS4 which in fact is nothing but code for controlling the VIDEO

look at the far right middle, you will see the video controls, Play, Speed, RGB, etc. Hideo in fact PROVES its a video running on a PS3. LOL

It wasnt that impressive anyways so......whatever. Im starting to believe the ps3 will be like sega cd; lots of fmv games tongue.gif

Weren't those the menus used to change the fog volume and other effect settings to show that is wasn't pre-rendered?

People are overhyping the vid though. Just look at the stills, they are pretty bad compared to stills we've seen on the x360. The pre-rendered killzone 3 vid is 10 times better than that mgs vid.

Exactly. Hideo wouldn't put his reputation on the line by saying it's PS3 game scenes if it was actually CG video. Especially after that Killzone 2 drama.

And rather than hoping this is what the PS3 will be doing (well, much better apparantly given that this is a first attempt and a game which the dev said would not be concentrating so much on visuals), I see people here doing just the opposite... hoping it's NOT real graphics. So they'd rather support their favourite console rather than see something amazing, no matter who makes it. Which is friggin' funny given that 90% of 360 stuff at E3 was CG video...

I can sense more than a bit of jealousy and anxiety around this board.

I really don't see how it matters one way or another at this point whether or not the video was pre-rendered, as they've still got a long way to go before they can expect a system of the GS3's size to equal the performance of their alpha kits.

What devs can do on alpha kits is only representative of the technology if the hardware guys can actually fit all that stuff into a console of the size they're predicting.

Exactly. Says so in the article, right below those screens:

"スネークの素の状態のモデルに、ライティングやフォグを調整し、全体の色見を整えていく。各種エフェクトを一括で処理し、わずか数分で「MGS3」っぽい独特の色見のモデルに仕上げてしまった"

who cares if its real time or not. they games they are showing are at lest a year or two away. its all marketing.

The Playstation3 isn't due out for another year(U.S), It would be a stupid decision to show games running off of alpha kits so early. With so many people who look at a game and automatically think the system will suck if graphics aren't extremely good, Sony is making a good decision to not show quarter-done crap way before it is released. MS made a huge mistake showing of Alpha gameplay that discouraged people, all companies who release their consoles never show gameplay of their system until around release. I've played the 360 at Wal-mart and it looked more as though they are trying to keep up with this gen computers rather than pursue the future. Demo or not you can't tell me that they can look any better on their final release. The A.I. was pretty good but the graphics were half-assed, and some even looked like Xbox graphics. Sony knows that showing the graphics so early will discourage and not show the true potential of what the RSX+Cell is capable of in it's final form.

Ever thought that the MGS4 stills are acutal gameplay, and that the Xbox360 stills are rendered mad.gif ? Try looking at it that way. Plus, the Killzone 2 video is better because it was (I'm not saying i believe it) most likely rendered, therefore being far better than actual gameplay, as shown in MGS4. Either way, Ps3 is going to be insane, Xbox360 is going to be insane, and the Revolution is going to be...Well....The less said about that, the better. tongue.gif
