Wait it's TGS and Sony can't release a trailer without being lashed against? It's part of the usual cycle of promotion you create hype early (just like xbox 360 did although there's was more subtle) and then you will have a better launch. What did you expect them to do? Just not release any information until when it's released? Then you would nag them saying they are trying to keep everything secret and hush hush because they have something to hide. They are putting there balls on the table and all you do is blow hot air in there general direction. Your all xbox fan girls I will get my xbox 360 but I can agree that is a fucking badass video clip and shows the true sign who has the best system power wise.

the trailer is really impressive stuff, and i believe it is the real deal. but who cares. the game isn't going to look like that. remember back to all of the other MGS trailers. they all looked amazing, and were in fact done on the real PS/PS2 hardware. actual gameplay didn't come close because you can't play a game with fixed cameras. this will be just like before. the difference with MS is that they have been showing almost entirely in-game screens and demos. there hasn't been one developer to make a comparable length, non-playable demo for the 360. it really would have helped MS if they had.

ppl arguing with deftones again, they never learn........

My whole take on this though is that why does peter moore feel he had to say that? Was the mgs4 trailer really that threatening? i dont think so......Ive seen equal to and greater things on the 360 thus far.

And isnt that a sign of weakness (the fact that he felt the need to comment on the trailer)?

Although it was pretty retarded that sony felt the need to shamelessly plug the cell in the video though. was that really necessary? dry.gif

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the MGS4 trailer or the "plug" for the Cell..

Anyone who's ever played an MGS game knows that they like to break the 4th wall and add in funny references to things in the real world. The Cell reference was on par with any MGS trailer or game demo. I wouldn't be surprised to find stuff like that in the actual game once it comes out.

The line at the end "It will be worth the wait" is what I think Moore was referring to as a sign of weakness. I think the only thing Sony fears from MS right now is the fact that they're launching first, which wouldn't be so bad if they were lining themselves up for a strong launch as well (typically the first console to launch in a particular generation has a weak launch).

The cell reference was on par for MGS and the "worth the wait" comment simply shows that Sony is somewhat worried about launching 2nd.

Moore was simply pointing that out, though the fact that he felt he NEEDED to point it out might also be a sign of weakness. Worried that people might take the comment to heart and turning it from "yeah it WILL be worth the wait" to "he's right that WAS a sign of weakness". Both companies have their necks out and are equally worried about the other.

As for the comment deftones compared earlier claiming they are both childish. One contained 2 facts followed by a rational confusion as to the other company's "vision". The other company compared themselves to a wise instructor and the competitor as a student who things they know better.

In that case MS said "I don't understand what they're trying to accomplish" to which I can fully agree because I thought the very same thing when I first read the PS3 specs. "Who has 2 HDTVs?" and "Aside from SOME sports games who needs 7 controllers?" How was either of those useful, I would rather a lower price point then those two frivolous features. For all intents and purposes KK called MS a "n00b" with his comment. hardly comparable comments.

My only problem with MGS4 was that they decided to make Snake an old man with a porno mustache. Will not getting caught while hacking up a lung be part of the game? ...and If you do get caught can you use your colostomy bag as a weapon?

"The fact that they feel the need to have Snake tell you that it's powerful, that could be seen as a sign of worry, or weakness, potentially," Moore concluded.

I played enough MGS games to understand hideo's humour and i did find the cell thing kinda funny (especially when he said the robot was powered by cell then it seemed like it was malfunctioning all of a sudden) and i found the "whats a cell processor thing funny too (snake is really showing his age tongue.gif) but the whole going into "its the key to winning the console war" and the whole killzone and ducks thing they showed after was a little distasteful IMO but whatever.......not enough to entice me to buy a ps3..........rev and 360 for me for now! biggrin.gif

Moore was simply answering a question from the media.
I think a "No comment" would've been a sign of concern from him.

His quote has simply been taken out of context as he also talked about Nintendo.

You missed the entire point here.
Can you answer this question? (I wonder why no one in the game media has even asked this question yet blink.gif I'd love to hear what grill master Ken would say)
With the PS3's release around the corner, why is Sony still showing trailers?

Moore has a point here, and all these "trailers" Sony has been releasing sure makes it seem as a sign of worry on Sony's behalf.

Remember, Sony publically showed signs of concern when M$ started pointing to a Fall 05 release of the Xbox 360.
There's nothing Sony can do to stop M$ from releasing the X360 this year, the best they can do is to try to sway as many gamers as they can from the Xbox 360.
And showing a bunch of high quality trailers is their best way of doing this, even if the trailers aren't honest.

It worked against the Dreamcast, so Sony thinks it will work against the X360.
Makes total sense to me.... dry.gif

You are so right my friend

Why the dreamcast was out sony told a bunch of lies saying that ps2 would have toy story like graphics and buffed the spec sheet up and the right before launch they down sized the specs that they blew up. Sony blowed smoke up my ass that time when all alone the Dreamcast was the better console just dident have DVD function. You get me once shame on you get me twice shame on me. XBOX 360 and nintendo rev for me. Sony is playing their mind games again too keep people from buying xbox360 thats their trick when some one out does them.

Same here bro, I don't have time for all three consoles anyways.
So the Xbox 360 is my first choice and the Revolution is my second choice.

MGS4, God of War 2, and FFXIII are not good enough to sway me over to the PS3.
So far, it looks like a console geared for sequels....

Same here they played that smoke and mirrors game to many times and the reason they keep lieing is because they know most people don't care and want say anything about it. I myself know better then all the lies their saying but their is some brain washed folks that think the graphics are going to blow xbox360 away but i know it want. I say their going to be neck to neck. Hell last time we thought that the ps2 was going to be way better then Dreamcast graphics and it wasent it was way worse jaggys and such it was junk. I myself am going to Stay with the Devil i know witch is xbox360 then the Devil i don't know witch is ps3 because their big liars!!

Yes and snake being 50 years old i hate that!! Snake never aged as for as i could see between 2 and 3 so why make him age in 4? It's depressing lol how can a man that sick and old do what he did in that trailer? I guess since this is the last Metal gear for those who don't know can read here http://news.gamingho...13540.2331.html or use google to search. I guess he is just going to phuck it all up!!
