First of all, big thanks to mrRobinson for this topic
http://forums.xbox-s...howtopic=183856

Tried the ftp'in at the weekend. Succesfully achieved a connection, was able to browse my xbox drives no problem.

The problem comes into play whenever i try to transfer a file. For some reason the connection timeouts out after about 15seconds.

Not the best on computers. But can do pretty much anything as long as guided. Jus like i did using mrRobinson's ace ftp guide.

I use smartftp if that helps and i'm running evox on my xbox.

Thanks for any help

Cheers bud. Have tried doing it through xbmc and had no success. Have had my xbox successfully ftp'in at a friends house using his set-up. Have set up mine to what i beleive is exactly the same as his but just get the timeout error. He's using smart ftp like me.

Tried going in through IE but this method won't let me drag and drop at all.

Is there any other recommended free d/l ftp clients that are suitable??

Not sure if it helps but have run the ping command and all comes back fine from that.

Thanks for reply. beerchug.gif

Do a google search for WSFTP

I use it, and I love it, for the most part.

The only thing is, when you install it, you have to say you're a student using it for educational use, or something....in checkboxes...it's dumb.

Cheers for the heads up, will have a look at using that.

Was baffled last night. I linked it up again to check i wasn't going insane. I can easily upload anything from my xbox to my pc, but as soon as i try and download from pc to xbox it appears almost as though the connection is temporarly lost as it flashes up in the corner that the network connection was closed and then instantly flashes up again that the network is connected at 100 kb/s i think it is??? Something is playing games with me. jester.gif

sorry to bang on about this. sad.gif

Tried ftp'in yesterday using the wsftp granulated recommended. After a few attempts, reboots and stuff finally managed to actually start to d/l stuff to my xbox. Unfortunately half way through it just hung up and then wouldn't let me back in again.

Could it in anyway be the cable. I made it myself and checked it worked using this cable connectivity checker we have at work and all seemed ok. Just running out of ideas now???

Appreciate any help people.
