so basicly the xbox has to be wired to the pc in some way either through a router or direct.it cant be just connected to a router that is setup as an access point,is that correct

Ya, depressingly the XBOX needs to be slaved to a computer, I've heard spotty reports here and there of people getting it to work wirelessly, but nothing confirmed or duplicated. The PC can be wireless and be situated anywhere, then you can hook up a router to that pc and plug the xbox into the router , or plug it directly into the pc via crossover cable. It's kinda lame but it does work, that's the setup I use at my house.

So I could direct connect my xbox to a wireless notebook and that would work?
