ok well i just recently got 2 usb ports and 2 ps/2 ports off an old motherboard. both ps/2 and usb have 4 pins, and i am wondering, do i hook the ps/2 ports up the same as i would the usb ports? heres the pics

You could try dissecting one of those USB to ps2 adapters that come with most mice.

After opening it up, there's a big hunk of plastic seperating the PS/2 and the usb. Lemme attack it with the knife some more. I'll post pictures if anything interesting shows up.

ive cut one open before its quite odd theres the plastic like ^he said and the wires sort of just randomly run through it and then go to the usb part. ive ground down a few of those and used it for the female usb slot but that has nothing to do with my topic anyways i dont know what you meant about cutting one of those open

It looks like to me the ground is attached to the metal shielding, then there's 1 wire that doesn't go anywhere and 3 that do.

I bet it's possible to use, but I have no idea how.
