I just softmodded my Xbox, but the DVD-ROM is busted. I was thinking of tossing it, and putting the rest of the working Xbox inside a different case. Is there anyway that I can get it to boot without an error code?

Thanks in advance

Not directly. I remember a guy who made himself a slimline xbox by ripping of the DVD-ROM from the PCB and just having that one connected in there.

Hmmmm, I may try that. The drive is already broken, so it would save me from ruining my Xbox if I messed up soldering the TSOP

Nice find beerchug.gif

I usually just place a PC dvdrom in place of the xbox one, so at lease i can play backups wink.gif

its fairly easy, and no chip is needed.

But xbox drives have a different power conector than PC drives. But his drive is broken anyways, so why not try the above method.

true but all available power goes thru the yellow wires, or you can cheat and Y adapt the HD power.
