Hi all,

Just a little question:

I have an Xbox here with a broken harddrive.
We want to replace the hdd, and install a softmod on the device.

But....

We haven't had the chance to make EEPROM backups of this Xbox!!

I have 2 xboxhdm CDROM's with EEPROMS of Xboxes that are broken.
And I have 2 empty Xbox retail HDD's.

Can I take one of those HDD's and a random xboxhdm CD with EEPROM of another Xbox to prepare one of the hdd's for this Xbox?

Or is the only solution building in a modchip?

I think I already know the answer, and have to build in a chip, but alternative solutions are very welcome!

Thanks in advance!

Yes you have to buy a modchip, a random eeprom won't work it has to be the same as the one on the xbox mobo.

Still no good without the eeprom or a modchip, the drive has to be locked with the correct password to boot a softmod.
