Formating An Old Xbox Hdd
Posted 12 November 2005 - 02:24 AM
I have an old xbox HD which i no longer need, and wouldn't mind putting it in my old P3 666Mhz computer. So i went into XboxHDM, unlocked it, cleared the xbox patition table, and then booted up windows. But the problem is its not in my computer.....i can't see it there, but it has loaded drivers and stuff for it.
So, how do i format it? im kinda a noob at this so i posted it here.
Thanks for your help, Love you guys

Get a bootdisk there free and available here bootdisk dot com
Put it on a Floppy or CD
Boot up your computer and it will load a DOS Prompt thing
(Make sure this drive is the only drive connected so you dont format the wrong one)
Then type in "format C:" (Without quotes)
Then it will format it and you should be up and running.

format C: /s
this way it copies the DOS system files (only a few kb) over so the drive is bootable by itself if you need it for something. just makes it a lil easier and its only 2 more chars to type to save you from finding a boot disk
