The X-ecuter2 Lite is not as easy to install (soldering required unless you buy pogo pin adapter), but is easier to use than the matrix (just pull a pin off).
The X-ecuter2 Pro is about as easy as the Lite versoin, but is harder to use, but it also has the most features, and multiple bios support, along with a parallel port to flash the chip... recommend for non-noobs only.
My pick of the three there... is the X-ecuter2 Pro, for it's programming capabilities, and its expandability.

Now, if you were asking for a simple list of features (which, as has been pointed out, probably exists in hundreds of posts already), then that's different, but you asked for an opinion on which is best, yet an opinion free of bias. Can't be done.

Q: Exactly what is the function of the modchip?
A: To enable the Box to run unsigned software by bypassing the media flags. (Please correct me if I am wrong here) This is the sole and ONLY Extra function of the modchip over the original M$ Bios.
This can be done easily with a $3 LPC Chip (SST 49LF020 - Which all your Xecutors Chameleons Matrixes etc use. - It's the same chip!)
So why shell out all your hard earned $$$'s for "triple redundancy features etc. etc. etc." that you don't really need and will more than likely never use??
Shell out another $0.59 on a socket for your LPC chip and in the event of a bad flash you pop out the chip, take it to your local independant PC repair shop with your bios flash on a floppy disk, and ask them to reprogram it for you (Which most will be able to do. The amount of bad flashed PC bioses I have personally had to do runs into the 100's and most will do it virtually for nothing) - Please bear in mind the 49LF020 is a PC Intended Bios chip so there is nothing irregular about getting it reflashed.
Install a Switch on the D0 >>> Ground line and you can "Dual boot" your box back to the standard M$ Bios.
So why waste the extra money on something you can do already and don't really need?
Now do I call the Fire Fighters now to stop the flaming that's gonna happen? lol
