My box shuts down after about 3 - 4 minutes....no frag.....just shuts down....
I tried to install a mod chip but found that i'm going to get someone else to install it....

I found a broken link where the D0 solder point is, and fixed it with a wire....

But no help... It just shuts down after some time....

Any suggestions?

Mobo: 1.1

Thanks!

Edit: No ventilation problems, dvd and hdd is unmounted (They're connected doh wink.gif)

Well I have the same problem with my other xbox, its a V.10.
I cleaned the 2 fans on my motherboard and got the xbox
to run for about a hour then it shuts off. This xbox is unmodded
and I cant see any visible damage and the motherboard.

Maybe one of the chips are fried?

I noticed the GPU heatsink is rather hot....but I've never realized how hot/cold it should be...
Is there a GPU overheat protection?

My CPU does not get unusually hot, it doesn't really reach "normal" workload heat before the box shuts down...

I don't understand why it suddenly started shutting down after a few minutes when it worked perfectly before...

Since I didn't put in the hardware mod I'm running it with a softmod that always worked perfect.

Beats me....

I get this exact same thing on my v1.1. Although when it does eventually shut down, it flashes orange. After getting fed up with it I took the heatsink off and put one from a northbridge with a fan on it (after cutting every fin down to make it fit) and I dont get the problem anymore.

You put a new heatsink on the GPU with a fan? I'm right? If so, can you tell me how you did it?

Thanks,
