Ok, i've got a 1.0 xbox here and i just got this new 1.6 solderless adapter. How are you supposed to do this? I know that all the extra wires are unnessessary so what do you do? I heard that you pull the white part off and you have the standard solderless adapter. I tried that and it still doesn't work. There are too many pins if you pull off the white. I am lost here. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

You do simply pull the 2 apart because you don't need the extra peice.
Even though there are extra pins, that's OK because you don't use them all.
You simply place the chip on the pins starting at pin 1 and it works fine.
They show pictures of all this in the manual.

Razormix is correct you would pull the two pieces apart and use like normal. Make sure to have the correct DO hole in use. If you get really desperate theres a place you can order the old adapter, I could find it if you like, but the second piece of the solderless adapter should work just fine. Another way to try is to use the two pieces together and only use the single wire for the DO hole, once again making sure you use the correct DO hole. I like this method because the chip ends up getting placed closer to the back of the xbox so you have a longer reach of the USB adapter cord. Either way keep us updated.

Hi,

i've tried that. it just doesn't seem to work. I have modded many 1.0 xboxes, but this new adapter is just giving me headaches.

Can you give me the name of that site that sells the old ones please? That would be sweet.
