Its an alladin series chip, dangerous to flash as it can fail, and there is no recovery method from a bad flash.

Any 256kb bios will be able to be flashed to the chip, so all you need to know is your xb version then you can get a bios for that version of xb.

In saying that if you have a v1.6 xb then you are very limited in bios choice in haveing a 256kb flash.

EDIT: You are running the Evox M8 Bios, so id say you have a xbox v1.6 - v1.6b [Dont worry about the b thing]

You DONT NEED TO UPDATE YOUR BIOS. The evox M8 is about the latest bios that will work in that version of xbox with that flash size.

Hope this helps, Kye.

Did you try to flash the chip? If it was booting before and now it frags then what happened during the dismantling or re-assembling? I would be checking the LPC and placement of the chip.

Booting with eject gives you FRAG? or problems? It reads as if thats the issue but I may have misunderstood.
If it is the issue then its nothing to do with the chip as booting like this boots the original MS bios.
If you have an upgraded HDD in the box as well make sure its locked as the retail bios will not boot otherwise. Do you get any error screen or code?
If booting with the chip on works fine then do not attempt to flash the bios.
