Hi. Have a little "access problem" in that I dont often get access to a TV to play with my xbox.

New to this xbox thing - and while I generally follow instructions for set up and stuff cannot find anything in the forums about this use of "networking"- but may not be using the right keywords.

I can see that I can FTP between my laptop and xbox - but what I want to do is in effect simply use my laptop as the "display screen" for the xbox.

Is this possible?

Ta guys.

most laptops (probably 99%) do NOT have a vga input... without a VGA input you really can't use your Laptop as a screen for your Xbox. Simply put the video signal conversion necessary to transform VGA into something on the screen is a function not required by laptops(the graphics card is also the display driving hardware) so they tend to leave that ability out.

Without a VGA input your only option is a video capture device. Most are USB based and lag so much that it makes games unplayable.

Sorry to say but you probably can't use your laptop as a screen.

You could try this adapter from AverMedia. It's Cardbus-based, so it might not lag. Combine it with an S-Video cable for the Xbox and it should work.

Can you point to a couple models that have VGA in?
