I have been spending a lot of time trying to get my 360 to play hd files and then I remembered my old xbox sitting there. So I was wondering if it will play hd files and if so, what version of media player would I need? I have some sort of media player in there now...never used it...i think it was on an old slayer evox disc.

thanks!

No.

A custom p3 733mhz cpu with 64mb of ram aint enough for HD vids

Mine runs the Madagascar sample from divX-hd fine. Didn't like the wmv-hd files though

jaydee doesnt the vid pro do hardware mpeg decoding though? (of course that aint div x or wmv)

but there is no reason why xbmc cant play them, it just might run at 10fps and be unwatchable though ... try it wink.gif

HD Sample

Such a clip needs a 3ghz cpu to play smoothly and alot more then 64mb of ram....

That the gpu does most of the work do not matter...

The xbox is just to slow.
