on the remote power switch mods would it be posible to use a transistor switch circuits to use a high input for eject and a low input for power. like one switch for power another for eject but both running down the yellow wire but one sends a low signal and the other sends a high signal which is then put to the right point on the p/e board through the transistor circuit. Low to power on High to eject. i know that the p/e circuits are active low so the transistor would have to flip the 5v to ground.

Im sure it would be extremely possible. I dont know exactly how to do it, but Im sure I could do some research and get back to you. Maybe you could use some sort of microcontroller to send a data bit down, and have another one running on standby on the xbox side. Maybe someone else has a better idea, like using the Xerc?

EDIT just read SICKmods' FAQ and it says this about the XERC:
QUOTE
The XERC is a small device that is soldered inside the xbox, which allows you to turn on/off the xbox with your remote. You can also eject, turn on/off a modchip, and control all of your LEDs and/or cathodes.

Maybe you could use one of them.

i think a mom switch between a ground and pin 3 on the dvd power cable.

then another one between a ground and pin 4.

and i think you can do it with the yellow controller wire.

If it's too complcated, just use the controller cable sheeth as another wire (make sure its isolated from the controller ground and the xbox case).
