Ok I had this thread... http://forums.xbox-s...howtopic=477093

I changed the laser still did the same. Could it be something with the chip or do I have a crappy Cube??

So you're using Ritec G04 Media, on an NEC ND-2510A with the 2.18 or newer firmware and burning at 2X?

Yes I am.... It is a really strange problem and that's why I keep asking if anyone can think of what it could be. It is the first version of the cube so it is pretty old but I have tried 2 different lasers...

maybe uninstall the chip and clean the board and see if it will read original, if it does then reinstall the chip and see if that makes a difference
