Sure its easy, just get the right torx bit (10 i think, 20 for the case screws im not sure)

All you have to do is pulled out a few cables and unscrew a few screws biggrin.gif

I've removed the motherboard. Do i have to remove the metal inside the case where the motherboard sat?

If i remove the metal do i need to put it back onto xbox when done painting or can i just leave out the metal just put the motherboard back in?

You should remove the metal sheilding so the spray painting goes better...

Yeah you should put it back in afterwards too although leaving it out normally doesn't hurt but it can interferre with things (i cant use my tv remote when my xbox is on without shielding)

You can replace the heat sheilding if you want. I would leave it out unless there was some interference w/ the xbox and something else. Thats basically what the sheilding is for. So, unless your having problems, leave it out if your lazy.

Heat sheilding? lol biggrin.gif

I would put the sheilding back in just to save the hassle of the interferrance.

Easy you say? Well the only thing easier that I did was unplug my power supply cord from the wall!

I took everything out. I painted my xbox before but it didn't turn out the way i like it so i'm gonna repaint it to a white glossy colour. I'll be using krylons glossy white. should i sand it a bit first? Also do i need something else to protect the paint after i'm done spraying it?
