Cutting The Jewel Hole

Hey, I very roughly cut holes underneath my jewel and then sanded the rest (horrible effort). I was wondering what size of that tool they use to cut door knob holes would be used.

2.5" hole saw.

i would suggest use the 2.5 hole saw and then sand down the edges a little after you done that would make a really good result

isn't the jewel like 3 inches though?

Yes, but you'll need some form of a lip to hold it up.

No the Jewel's a little over 2.5 inches. You'll be left with something that's about 1/8 inch left over. Just enough to fit the jewel back onto.

but you would have to be careful where you but the saw as you could end up with a horribly screwed up hole

Easiest way to do it is draw a small circle in the middle of the jewel spot on the case and put the drill bit part of the hole saw right there then just punch it through. Let the drill do the work though and try not to push to hard and youll be ok.
