Hey guys, Jamie here

I heard somewhere for inside mods to the jewel area (lighting, LED's not CC's) and underlighting and what not you need a molex splitter to snag some volts from your hdd. True? Do i NEED it?

you dont truely NEED it, i would recommend it tho if your not good at splicing wire, and it saves u the chances of cutting the hdd wire completely

You can also pull power right of the power supply... which is what I did for the box I'm working on now. That works great for underglow lighting and whatnot... but it's a little difficult to get the wires up there for the jewel.... but I might have a tutorial up soon for what I'm planning on doing... mainly just cuz it's freaking nifty.

Or you could use a cold cathode light, a million times easier. Theres a outdated tut on XS.

Yeah, im thinking of doing the CC's for the jewel, after i get the damn thing off grr.gif

But what i am doing now is an underglow. So right off the power supply eh?

So i can just take power from these suckers? Did i get the positive and ground right? And thats 5v right?!

yeah doesnt matter weather you splice the hdd +5v wire or use a hdd splitter. the main reason ppl use splitters is to simply not have to put a big cut into the power supply wires, hdd splitters are dead cheap.
