I just bought an Metal Gear Solid 2 - Substance for my xbox. I am trying to back it up to save my xbox disk. Used Xcommander and the copy process seemed to complete fine as I've used xcommander many times without problems.

One MSG2 was finished I tried it but get stuck at the loading screen with the BIG evoX green logo.

I went ahead and turned off all 3 IGR's still samething.

I am running:

evox dash 3752
bios X2 4976
Kernel 1.00.4976.02

I've searched the other posts but most talk about copying disk (dvd) to disk. I am interested in copying this game to my xbox hdd.

If someone has a link to another to provided a successful backup of this game to the hdd please post.

BTW: This is completely ligit

wink.gif seems you dont know the size for this game , MGS2 is 6GB, too big for a regular DVD , i heard you can burn it in 2 DVD's , they there are two folders one named disk 1 and disk 2 wink.gif , i dont have this game so i dont know if this is true.

There are no reason's I can think off that this is happening... You did say you where doing a copy off the original didn't you?????

read my signiture.. it has a point about copying games (for backup reasons).. read through it!!.. then ur game will be certain to work on ur hard drive... not DVD-R... it doesnt fit on it!
and no spliting up the files for it wont work.. (into 2 disks).. (some 1 said they tried and didnt work)

as others have said.. it does work when u copy it to ur hard drive... NOT DVD!!!!

cheers...

Ah, yes xcommander was the problem. Although it was copied with xcommander without errors it still did NOT work.

I tried xbox copy and the game works fine. Are the newer games better with xbcopy as opposed to xcommander?

Thanks again fellas!

Can someone help me....I'm still unable to play it from my HD! I've tried Xbcopy and PxHdd.

Using Xbcopy, i get the error: Fail to copy disc2_5.dat... WTF!....I don't know!

Anyone else got this crappy error?

Thanks

Yes, clean the original disk. I don't recall that particular file [disc2_5.dat] being a problem. Try and let us know.
