Does anyone know why this happens?

Mainly it seems to happen with the Scarface skin

I've used the scarface skin with no problems [knock on wood] - and the worst I have seen a video skin do is stop looping the background vid after about 3 times when played from a disk.

does it do this when ux is loading up, or randomly?

maybe try deleting/renaming the items.xml file in the ux folder? this file contains any custom icons or previews you may have selected, so you may have to redo that - but it may resolve your issue? Also, double check that section of the ux config.xml and see if there are any open tags or anything like that???

good luck...
