I sold a 1.6 xbox a last week. This xbox was my first xbox, that I'd had for almost 2 years. Never had any problems with it at all.

So, this guy gets it, plugs it in, and says it only shows in black and white. He says he's tried different cords, and still the same thing. He does say that about every 6-7 times he turns it on, it's on color, but the very next time is in black and white.

Is there anything internal that would cause this? The xbox was previously modded with a Xenium Ice, and I pulled that chip and installed a DuoX Lite in it's place. I tested it after I swapped the the chips, and it all worked fine.

I told him to try on a different tv set to make sure it isn't his composite inputs on the tv that are the culprit, but he hasn't done so yet.

Any guesses?

I did swap eemproms before it was sent, but I also turned it off/on numerous times while installing apps, emus, etc. before i shipped it. Eeprom was set to NTSC, Region 1. Also, that doesn't explain why it works every once in a while.
