Plantronics GameCom X30 headset for Xbox 360-- Posted by XanTium on March 23 21:45 EST
From 360insider.net:

Plantronics sent me their latest Xbox 360 accessory-the GameCom X30 headset for Xbox and Xbox 360. While it works for the older Xbox, the color scheme and inline volume and on/off switch let you know this was designed for the 360 from the ground up. With the CoD 2 multiplayer patch finally out, and GRAW and other big Live games out and on the horizon, it's about time we get a headset for the hardcore gamers among us.

Despite somewhat similar aesthetics, it's a rather large diversion from their popular Halo 2 Edition headset. When you finally figure out how you are supposed to wear it, you'll quickly forget it's there due to it's light weight and free-hanging design.

Ebgames lists this at $30. And that price should be accurate, because it's the same damn headset they've made for the last 2 years just with different coloring - the MX505. The problem I see with this design is the in line remote hands on the cord and is WAY too bulky for what it does, I think it's bigger than the 360 puck.

I don't think I will buy it though, as it seems to me they have a better headset for the 360. The M220 has volume control and a mute switch on the earpiece, so no dongle is needed, and no heavy inline remote on the cord. Check it out -

I'd suggest checking out the Plantronics MX505 It's the same thing for 23 bucks. At least that is how much it is at Amazon.

EDIT:

Yea, what Lizard King said!

Yes, the MX505 is the same headset in a different color - I really suggest the M220 though...no in-line remote on the cable

This isn't out yet is it? Someone is selling a used one on ebay and claims they got it at bestbuy But I could not locate it on their websit so I take it is a fake or scam.

Nice.. I love the design since you don't have to acually wear it on top of your head. The in ear design is a must!! rolleyes.gif
