Ok, here is what happened: I deleted the soft mod off of my old Xbox accidentally, which messed up the MS dash too. I can not play any games, or DVD's, and I cannot get into the dash (obviously). I have another Xbox with EvoX on it that is working great, and I was wondering if I could make a boot disk with any of the files from my new Xbox. Is this possible? I also have DVD+r's to work with, and I know that my xbox loads whatever is on the disk before it trys to load the dash, but for some reason it doesn't load games. I know this because it takes like 15 extra seconds even if I put a blank DVD in before it gives me the error screen and the red flashing light.

I also have Slayer's auto-installer v2.6, and the gamesave files that installed my EvoX in the first place, and of course, the installed EvoX on my Xbox. So, is there a way that I can make a boot disk, or do I have to hardmod my Xbox?

Well will it boot Slayers? You could FTP in and fix. Also that will at least let you know it will boot an EvoX disc.

Um, since I DELETED the softmod, I can't exactly FTP my Xbox or I wouldn't be asking how to make a boot disk.

Um, Slayers is a boot disc. That is why I said to boot it. It will give you FTP access if you CAN boot it. Just don't use the options on the disc, FTP in and see what's there.

He can't. It won't boot ANYTHING.

Hotswap or Modchip.

Certain Modchips allow you to FTP right into the drive without the hassle of a boot disc...
