I was wondering if anybody has ever tried to remove the cpu in the xbox and replace it with another? It is just a basic celeron right? Or did they modify the cpus so you can't do that. It would be cool to see if you could fit a faster celeron in there.

Why is it not possible, because it is a different type of chip? Otherwise it is possible to unsolder the old chip and put a new on in right? From looking at the MB it seems like it is possible.

maybe not possible is a little too strong of words. its more like whose going to go through with it. I have heard rumors of people overclocking their xbox processor, but not going and replacing them.
