i'm not willing to go on any price, if i won a free PS3, i would get people to take pictures of me smashing it in the parking lot(that, or sell it on ebay)

You should probably re-do this as a poll topic but, personally if the price tag was $999 id defently buy it no hesitation.

wow, talk about blind devotion. i would take one for free or buy a few units at launch no matter the cost so i can sell them on ebay for $1000+ and make money off of tools like DragoNs

so when saying you would pay $999 you werent planning on keeping it? if not then smart thinking, but IMHO NO console is worth more then $500 and even that is stretching it. if the 360 wasnt $400 i wouldnt have gotten it at launch and if the revolution isnt cheap i wouldnt consider getting that either.

Right now I have $600 saved up for it. I might go up to $800 for one.

wow, $800 and keeping it? some people may dismiss anything i have to say because i have a 360 at the end of my nick and in the result call me such names as "fanboy". however i would never pay $600+ for ANY console. i know there are the same kind of people in MS's and nintendo's camp that would pay for a way overpriced console (ive seen 360's sell for over 3k!) but that is just insane and i see far more people buying an overpriced ps3 then any other console because sony made it.....oh and its a sub-par blue-ray player rolleyes.gif it is especially sad when the consumer would have two other cheaper alternative consoles to consider but still get an overpriced/over-hyped (yet still powerful) system. when the first of any new generation of consoles is released, i guess i can understand how some people need to jump on the next gen bandwagon but when there are other choices of equal value and yet some people still buy something out of blind devotion is just sad.

like i said ill try to by a couple just to sell them off to tools willing to fork over the cash for the grillmaster 3 muhaha.gif

If I grab like 3-4 and sell 3 of them, then the profit will pay for one for me and if i dont make good profit id still pay $800, its like buying a computer some people would only pay $1000 tops for a computer, i could easy spend $3000 on one. Some people can afford it, some can't there you have it.

its not just like a computer. where with a computer, usually what you pay is what you get out of it, and unlike a console they are always upgradable. and yes some could say the experiences you get from any console is well worth twice of what they are worth. however there is a difference between appreciation and blind devotion. like i said before, regardless of what i can afford, i wouldnt have purchased a 360 if it was more then $500 and wont be getting a revolution if its more then $300. i dont see what justification there could be to spend $800 on a console that is not worth that, especially at launch. if your buying it to jump on the next gen bandwagon, then why not get a 360 or revolution for half of the price? if your buying it for a blue-ray player, then why not get a stand alone blu ray player that will be of better quality.

my point is that unless your that devoted to sony, then where is the justification for paying that much? especially considering you dont know what titles will be available for launch? if you admit your just a sony-fan, fine ill leave it at that, there isnt much more needed to be said. if there is any other reason, i would love to hear it. huh.gif

i'm not paying above $400 for it. no game for it at launch is going to be worth the $500-$600 it is going to be. the only way i'll make an exception is if there are a healthy number of good blu-ray movies by that time, and i doubt it. if i was able to get a hold on one or 2 additional systems to sell on ebay and cover the cost of mine, i'd do that too. somehow, i think this launch is going to be worse than the 360.
