I wnated to know how big of a difference flux makes because I want to do a TSOP flash but at the time I have no flux. Thanks.

i never used flux for a TSOP flash, just clean the points off with some alcohol first and you shoudlnt have any trouble

What do you use to apply the alchohal it would have to have a pretty fine tip (finer than a Q-Tip)

You just dip a Q-Tip in Isopropyl alcohol, and touch it to the inside of the bottle to squeeze most of the alcohol out, and then just touch the points. The alcohol will evaporate and youll be fine.
