Today I bought Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. I was so happy to play 2005's Best Game of the Year. My friend Mike and I had already made plans to play a little co-op via X-Box Live. My excitment ended when I logged onto XBL, only to discover that I needed to download an update for the game, which included new weapons, maps, blah blah. That may not seem like a reason to cry, but when I pressed ok and expected to go to download the data I came to the infamous X-Box error screen. I tried this a few times and each time got the same result. I consulted a few friends with extensive X-Box and softmod knowledge and they couldn't find a way to solve this problem. I decided to pop in Mechassault (which I had used to put on the softmods in the first place) and see if there was an option to turn off the soft mod. This didn't work. I've tried every way I can think of and was wondering if anyone could give me some tips. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

i found this less than an inch above the 2 posts you created: http://forums.xbox-s...howtopic=489307

this will explain that unleashx is not a soft-mod, its a dashboard. if you are having soft-mod woes, consult the experts in the soft-mod forum here: http://forums.xbox-s...hp?showforum=45

good luck - depending on who and how your xbox was modded, you may never play on xbox live again...

That's incorrect and BS!

FootFairy; if your friends really had extensive softmod knowledge, they would have known that Ndure overcomes that and other limitations of older, lesser setups (such as yours)!

This thread specifically in forum 45 might be of assistance {: but please ignore the rant post therein, from someone that didn't perform the steps correctly... :} as any softmod can be updated to a fully functional Ndure setup this way:
