It is quite possible that your hard drive does not support locking.

Are you trying to lock it with xboxhdm ? with the hd key or the eeprom ?.. cuz i've seen problems with the hd key itslef.. eeprom is your best bet with xbhdm

I have an eeprom.bin file for E:/backup, will that do the trick?

Recreate the xboxhdm boot disc with the eeprom.bin file in the eeprom folder. Once you boot into xboxhdm, select option 3 and then type "lockhd -a" (without the quotes). that should lock your hard drive.

Who cares about your pc bios.. it should usually always boot from cd rom first, then floppy then hdd, so just make sure your xbox hdd is in primary and your cd-rom secondary. then your set.. unplug any other hd you got plugged, or else you might run the risk of screwing them up !

Is it really worth it for 2gbs? lol

To lock the drive, get xboxhdm1.9 extract it, put the xbox' eeprom.bin in the eeprom folder. run makeisowin.bat and burn the image to disc. Boot the pc with the hdd in primary master and boot the disc. Use option 3 for linux locking/unlocking tools. Type "lockhd -a" without the quotes and your done.

If you want to prepare the 10gb your talking about. Just put your c drive and e drive files in the c and e folders of xboxhdm along with your eeprom.bin in the eeprom folder. Then make the iso and boot with the hdd in primary master and boot the cd. Run option 1 i believe, to reubild the hdd from scratch. When prompted, say yes to copying over c and e files, and i spose you want to make an f drive for the 2gbs lol. Then reboot and this time choose option 3 for linux locking/unlocking, and type lockhd -a
