There is a PC secion of the forum BTW. I think it's in the general chat. Not sure about your boot disc and what you mean by that for a PC. If you mean like he needs to re-install his OS then if you have the same OS it would work fine, but use his key when registering or it's considered piracy. His registration key would be on the case of his PC normally (with Dell I think it's at the bottom front, or the top of the case.

Other than that I'm not sure what you mean. Try to be as descriptive as possible, I'm sure someone on here will surely be able to help you figure out how to fix it.

If you are both using XP then it should work fine. Only thing is again, if he has XP Pro and you have XP Home then it's still considered piracy. I don't think it would matter about Service Pack 2 though (will say "with SP2" on your bootdisc).

some system restore cds wont work on other computer models, your boot disc may or may not work on his, if it boots though it shoudl be fine, also make sure you use his cd key when setting up

K, i'll remember that. If the disc doesnt work he'll just have to buy a new one, he broke his when he was moving his computer to the basement.
