Ok so hello remember me? tongue.gif Mr. error 21. theres no way i can access my xbox to get the eeprom.bin file so im gonna purchase the Xecuter 3 CE modchip. Anyone have good/bad experiences with this? just want to get peoples opinion before i go and get it. It seems like one of the best on the market. Also will i be able to install a new dash on my box once the mod chip is in?. Is it sodderless?

The X3 is a great chip. I have 2 xbox's, I have 2 X3's...

You will have no problem installing a dash after you flash the bios. Use X3 3294 bios (1.6 version if you have a 1.6 of course). Yeah, there are solderless adapters, I think there is a different adapter for a 1.6 if you have one.

Cerealkillajme pretty much said it all.

In my opinion the Xecuter3 CE are the best out there. They have the backup rom so that you always have a backup way to boot your xbox (biggest thing that I love about them). The X3 bios is an awsome OS that always you to set up your system with ease. Good luck.

what kind of soldering gun you recommend? from the tut that i read you have to solder like a 14 pin connecter to the mobo. My xbox is 1.4ish...at least i think. I'm reading that the serial number is a way to find out what version xbox but its not an exact science. Do i get any info about my version number from kernel number or whatever K:1.00.4XXX.01 D:00.5XXX.01 (thats where im getting the 1.4 from or am i way off base :/) lol dont you love newbies!
