XBMC Skin Editor Preview-- Posted by XanTium on June 8 21:22 EST
From |EqUiNoX| on xbmcskineditor.xbox-scene.com:

Ok, as promised head over to the download page for you first installable glimpse of XBMC Skin Editor(info). From this point on I plan to post regular updates as and when key stages are complete. I hope you like what you see so far and feel free to ask any questions via the forum.
As I say there is still alot of work to be done, but at least you can get some ideas of what ive been up to so far. Please note this application is designed round supporting version 2.0 skins such as MC360 available from Team Blackbolt's site.

Update: Hopefully I have fixed the main issues you all were having so hopefully you can now have a better bug free play with the application. I am now currently working on the preview engine and things are going quite well so far.

My guess is that everyone's still caught up with MC360. Once (or if) the fuss ends this tool will end up being extremely useful in easily allowing others to experiment with their own creations. I've read alot of posts from people not knowing where to start with their skins, but this will help.

I'm really looking forward to a full version of this app. After playing around with xml in MC360 for the last couple of days, I've realized that I'd really like to create a simple skin that focuses just on the Videos portion of XBMC, but I have no idea how to start a skin from scratch.
Thanks for the hard work EqUiNoX!

I have just downloaded, and loaded MC360. I canít wait for the full version to be finished, definitely a very good beginning. Great work EqUiNoX! beerchug.gif

I had some initial problems with skins in general which I missed but have now fixed. At the time of writing this there is still a bug if you do not open the skin properly it will crash (will be fixed in 0.1.668) all you need to do is make sure you select the skin folder properly (rather than selecting a sub folder of skin).

Once done you will be able to look at the files held in youre favourite skin (no preview or editing yet of skin). Just a note to bear in mind if a XPR has (protected) against it all images under that you see will be degraded quality (to protect designer from ppl ripping the skins).

Hope that helps.
