finished off my blue/silver xbox today with a flubber shaped window, here are the pics

system off, from the front

system turned off from the top

system turned on from the top (the discs actually spinning but the camera did an amazing job capturing it)

system turned on, from the front, in the dark (so you can see the LED ring)

might do a little bit more minor work on it such as putting some LED's under my window, and re-taping the system to fix that blue spot near the jewel. also have another xbox i painted recently that i'll take some pictures of after i tsop flash it and put the system back together.

----edit---

painted with duplicolor metal specs if anyone was wondering

jebus, sand down the dvd spindle part blink.gif other than that it looks really good. I would have honestly filled in the port numbers and sanded down the ms logos, but thats just me. BTW, I see a smudge of blue by the jewel, maybe wanna check that out.

why is the jewel green?

doesn't look like you sanded very well.

DVD window isn't quite smooth along with that upper right "curve."

DVD bezel looks like a different shade of gray to me.

5/10 for effort..

already knew about the blue spot and planned on fixing it, i do still have to file the dvd piece though, i guess you could say its 80% done since it still needs a few minor touch ups

----edit----

the dvd bezel looking a differant shade of grey is just because of the way the flash from the camera hit it, in person its all the same color

how did you mask the power and eject symbols so well?

i didn't end up masking them wink.gif. the power and eject symbols are depressed a bit, so i just spray painted the whole button fixture blue, then sanded the top layer off, and the pits with the symbols where low enough that the sand paper didn't touch the paint that got in there. i did end up losing some of the texture from the power button from the sand paper smoothing it out, but the smoothness has kind of grown on me. you might be able to do a similar trick with paint thinner to rub off the excess paint.
