Hi guys, quick question:
At home I play XBL on a wireless router WITHOUT WEP encryption and I never seem to get any lag. When I take my 360 to my friendīs I have to set up the WEP (64bit) in order to get on his wireless router, but I never get full green bars in halo 2, and experience a bit of lag. My question is: Is it the wireless encryption causing the lag (due to the router having to decode all the info with the wep key) or is it due to his conection not being as good as mine? Any help will be appreciated

the WEP wouldn't cause the lag, however the are other factors that could be the issue. my guess is that either there is interference as ham said, or your xbox is further away from the router and isn't getting as strong of a signal. if your router and your xbox are on differant floors, expect problems in most cases.

definately not the wep thats slowing it down, there is a list of other factors that have been mentioned in the thread that are places you should be looking. you should wire your xbox if at all possible as it will provide a faster, more stable connection then wireless will.
