Hi Guys

since looking at some of the guides for bastardizing the xbox, i'm thinking of
adding a USB port.

but, before i go ahead and mutilate my casing, can you use a USB pen drive as
removeable storage like you can with windows etc?

if you can't then i don't think i'll bother as i wouldn't have any other need for it.

Yes you can! just put the usb flash drive in your usb port on your xbox
this will show up in file explorer in unleashedx (don't know if the other dashes work)
use the format option which make it a xfat partition. plug ya pen drive into
your pc usb then tranfer files using xplorer 360

it a bit easier then dragging my crossover cable across the room all the time. lol

thanks for the reply.

if i just wanted to transfer divx / photo's / music from my laptop
to the xbox via the pen drive, does the pen drive still have to be
fatx format?

would it work "straight out of the box" as such so that i can still use
it laptop to pc etc when i wanted to?

thanks again!

The pen drive has to be formatted to an xfat to work with your xbox
so xplorer 360 allows you read and transfer xfat files on you normal fat32 or ntfs

if you need to use it in you pc/laptop again plug it in to your pc right click
the on Removable Disk an just format it back to normal

@stepeters

You can get a usb adapter that plugs straight in to the controller port
rather then bastardizing the xbox they come with the xenium modchip do a search.
I have a few spare if you want one. just trying to save you some cutting and messing with controller port wires
how are you going to go about it?

skyzerr33

thanks again for the reply.

i've got the xecuter 2.6ce chip installed at the mo'
would that adaptor that you have work with the
aforementioned chip?

if not, then i was going to attempt the simple looking
splice mod and add an exisitng USB extension lead to
the front panel....that's the "plan" anyway!!

cheers

Ste.
