I'll do a tutorial when I get my hands on a 1.6 xbox for my car. For now this will just work when the xbox is ON considering 1.0-1.5 xbox's only have a standby of 3.3v and will not power my relays.

I moved this to the correct forum. I'm soo used to posting in 360 forums that I made a mistake and posted this mod in the 360 forums!

Sorry!

u can easily make this work on all console versions, by using the step up circut supplyied with XIR which uses a MAX619CPA chip smile.gif
as i used this circut so i could use the IR eye that came with the MS dongle on my 1.2 smile.gif
made me a DIY XIR, with on/off modchip on/off using the standard IR eye from dongle (plus it makes it easier to intigrate the dongle too)

Theres no external/internal mounting requierd for this. You can run a internal antenna inside the xbox and it will work from about 50ft away! smile.gif

yeah but if ur doing it just while its on u can do this with no hardware at all

xbmc... shutdown options, you can eject, reboot, or shut down with one click of the menu... if u have a wireless controller...ur doing it wirelessly lol.

i would like to know how u made that circuit though. i have two 1.6 boxes i could use that in. id crack open the remote as well, and put it in the wireless controllers. then, thatd be super pimp.

Nice find!

RF-remotes are nice. How much did it cost you?

hehe.. using relays to power on/off the xbox is like killing mosquitos with a shotgun biggrin.gif

Logisys Remote Multi-Function Panel - SILVER (FP800SL)

IPB Image

Its this device hacked to shit. I took the board and looked at the traces and found out which were not needed and started to hack the board up. This device runs off 5v and ground only. Worked perfect and is VERY small. Also what I like about this is the Longer you hold the remote button the longer the Relays hold. Meaning if you have a X3 and you want to boot stock you can hold the power on the remote and it will hold the power button down for x amount of time.
