V1.01 FIXES &/OR UPDATES
() New (tentative) support for Zwb (Thanks to Luigi Auriemma for the info - http://aluigi.org)
() Fixed a bug which caused extracted filenames to be messed up.
() Removed debug & partially supported formats code.
() Cleaned up a few small bits of code & fixed a few other minor bugs.

NEXT MINOR VERSION
(Possibly) Arc format support (All code allready written & working perfectly, extracted audio is however not yet working)

NEXT MAJOR VERSION
------------------------------
Halo map file audio extraction support. (72% complete)
Browse for folder support.

MAIN FEATURES:

() This program has the largest & best compatibility for extraction of audio files &
other formats from xbox games (Some pc games are also supported).

() 14 different formats are currently supported, many of these are exclusively supported
by this program and no others.

() Supported formats: Afs, Arc, Big, Gta5, Piz, Rcf, Rfa, Rws, Sr, Wad, Xsb, Xwb, Xwc & Zwb.

() Xbox Wave Bank compatibility is more vast and more robust than any other xwb
extraction programs.

() Adx files can be extracted from Afs files to uncompressed Pcm wav format.

() Header-less Pcm & Adpcm wav's have headers automatically created upon extraction.

() SCX allows you to scan files for Ogg, Wav, Wma, Bmp, & Png file headers, and does so
in some cases 60 times faster than other programs, includes auto-buffer
backtracking so no files are missed.

() Tested & confirmed to work with archives over 500MB & with over 4,000 files.

() Contains a database of filenames for archives which don't even contain filenames
or ones which do.

() Supports File renaming, & custom name file construction.

() Loaded extension-less supported files are auto-renamed with correct file extension.

() High performance & a resonably small memory footprint.

() No major known bugs

() No dll's, no registry entries & no .net runtime dependencies.

() Written in c & c++.

INFO
-----

To convert xbox adpcm's you must download & install the following;

http://dwl.xbox-scen...adpcm_codec.rar

KNOWN ISSUES
------------------

List fucks up if more than 5000 file details get loaded in,
I fixed this problem by disabling the list if more than said amount of files are found in an archive & the list is enabled.
I will try to find a proper solution for the next major version.

just asking but in MK:Deception if you extract the wavs their header I believe is missing or is incorrent they are adpcm's and I do have the codec installed...

I have tryed xbadpdec to fix the headers but it just doesn't work right as the audio is fuzzing but what Im wanting is the music from the game and maybe a few sounds but ne way just wanting to add that..

I was unable to download the program. It said on rapidshare that the uploader has deleted the file. When will it be back up?

Another question, do you know if it happens to work with playing the Star Wars Battlefront audio that is stored inside the lvl files? (I can upload an example if you need it)

Thanks. Blessings,
~Andy

ekszbox,
Just wanted to say THANK YOU for this app!!! I have wanted to snag the audio from some of these games for a long time. After viewing your read me file, I cannot wait for your next version that will hopefully have the halo map audio extract (in my case I would be using that for stubbs the zombie). Thanks again for your wonderful software

I killed the rapidshare link, as thanks to XanTium it can be downloaded from Xbox-Scene:

The headers are most likely not the problem.
My program doesn't yet convert adpcm to pcm -> incase you thought otherwise.

To convert adpcm files do this:

(01) Properly install this:
http://dwl.xbox-scen...adpcm_codec.rar

(02) Use a program like dBpowerAMP to convert the adpcm files to a format of your choice. (Sound Recorder works too, but that doesn't support batch mode processing)

It's not supported as I haven't come across that particular format, if you want me to check it out & see if I can crack it and add support for it give me a PM.

Thank you very much for your kind words.

Halo will be supported soon I hope, stubbs the zombie however won't be supported until I can get my hands on the map files from it, as they are no doubt slighty different to the format used in Halo.

take care,

KM

Great work!

Now, is there any way you could include support for the last few Tony Hawk games? THPS4, THUG, THUG2, and THAW all use WAD files to bundle their music files together. THPS4 uses WMA, but it looks like the other three use ADPCM.

Keep up the great work!

Hmm, I thought Stubbs literally used the same maps as halo (in fact they mostly all have the same file names as well). So their is a chance it may work regardless.

At any rate in the next version if you could add a batch encode (So You do not have to load one file in at a time) that would be great. Thanks again

Thank you so much for the new version with replace support! I'd been hoping for a program like this.

I tried it out with King of Fighters Neowave, which uses an XWB archive with PCM music, and was able to both extract and replace its music without any trouble.

Thanks for the support,

I don't have the games you mentioned, so unless someone gets me the files or the games containing the files -> I unfortunately can't add support.

() You can see if the stubbs map files are the same format by using HHT (Halo Hacker Tools) to try to load them or extract files from them.

() I've actually already added batch mode file processing for the next version.

it doesn't look like you can swap files in rcf files like in tetris worlds.

Please add this feature, my wife plays that game all the time and the music is somewhat annoying!!

Msny thsnks,

great work by the way

I am still waiting for the next version so I can batch encode a bunch of files at once. This is still a nice app, thanks again--WOOO
