Following Utter Chaos' notes, here is where I am:

* Got key from old firmware (from 46D drive)
* Patched firmware from 47D drive with that key
* Saved the modified firmware with my old key in it

so now I'm ready to flash the new drive

Now, I'm supposed to flash the drive with this command:
(where i is the drive letter, and hitse.bin is the name of my new firmware)

flashsec47_win i hitse.bin 90004000 1000

So, is this command "flashsec47_win" a tool that comes from Garyopa's
flashing tools, or is it from the SlaxVM that Utter Chaos mentions? Or is
the SlaxVM he mentions only to get the drive into ModeB?

It's from the earlier versions of the firmware flashing where everything wasn't in one nice program. Just get a couple of the older firmware packages to find it.

Would then Garyopa's "47flash.exe" do the same thing?

No. It must be flashsec_win or flashsec47_win.

Can anyone tell me what firmware release contained this application?
(Note: I am not asking where it is, just what it was called, thanks)
