My stock samsung drive (model SDG-605) appears to be broken. I'm trying to flash my modchip (spiderchip 1.1 :-p) with the disk but all the drive does is this: *insert disc* -> spin up -> spin down -> read ->spin up -> spin down. After doing this, the screen just has big blue letters plastered across it saying "Waiting for drive. Mode flashing." After about a minute or so, it ejects the disk and goes back to "Please insert disc. Mode flashing". I've replaced the eject belt since it was missing. I also tried cleaning the lens with a microfiber cloth. I've run out of ideas! sad.gif

Thanks in advance smile.gif

PS: It's a 1.6 xbox.

What method did you use to create your BIOS disc?

Using the bios.bin and a 50 mb dummy file. I burned that onto a CD-RW following this tutorial.

Well I just swapped out the Ide cable for another one. That's not the problem.

Okay I got it fixed. Turns out the stock CD drive was bad.
