No. You can change the colours etc if you use the 5035 x2 bios (or x3)

But you can not remove it.

You can get rid of it. i use a m8plus bios and I used ev tool to edit it to make it skip the animation. The screen just stays black when it should be playing.

Sorry, I'm not familiar with flubber term but if you are talking about the annimation with creepy sound, then yes you can get rid of it if your chip is X3 (not sure with other chip). Go to X3 Bios -> X3 Config Live -> Other Startup Tweaks then disable the XBOX Startup Annimation.

u don't need an X3 .. you can do it with any modchip as long the bios is made to have no flubber .. i have a few tsop flashed xboxs like that and my X2 is as well ..

you can use this tool to edit a bios how u want it .. http://dwl.xbox-scen...ool_1.0.23a.rar

read and learn before you go clickin all over the place :]

Can anybody with a stopwatch check if a 'noflubber' and a normal BIOS take the same amount of time to boot?

[edit]
'Normal BIOS' != X3 BIOS (or any other modchip specific BIOS)

They take the same amount of time.

The reason i said that there is no way to remove it is becouse i assumed he wanted to save time, but the flubber is there for hw init.

My TSOP'ed v1.0 with Xecuter2 5035 BIOS does not display the Flubber, and boots faster.

w/o animation 9.5sec
w/animation 16.5

16.5??? I don't know how long my Xbox takes to boot but I don't think it is quite as long as 16.5 seconds.

Still, even a softmodded Xbox uses something like 10 seconds from button press to XBMC logo. I don't know where the extra ~6 seconds from your configuration are coming from. Did you enable DHCP without having a DHCP server or something? huh.gif

the extra 6 sec is the Flubber doing its thing, making that horrible sound and animation.

Startup time is also affected if a disc is presant
i have a mod'ed x2 bios (no flubber) also set to boot boot.xbe not default.xbe from the disc.
hence booting with a xbox game left in the drive will still go to the dash of choice (hmm wonder what that might be)
(used to drive the missis crazy when i'd leave a game in and she'd have to get tup to eject it)

anyway back to point, we typically have a disc in, either a dvd, game or disc with divx's on. the drive searches for the xbe before loading a xbe from the HDD (you can see this on a x2 bios without flubber as the x2logo at the bottom will only appear when it loads the xbe - put a disc with avi's on and see)

when there is no disc, (no flubber remember) it boots with the big x (which again you can change the colours - mines white now) for 2 sec's (time to init the hdd) shows the x2 logo then loads the xbmc logo
(less than 4 secs total)
with a disc its the same first step, then the disc spins to search for the boot.xbe (the hdd also inits in this time), then the x2 logo and then xbmc (more like 8 secs)

my sisters is softmodded and the startup (with flubber) to logo does take 10 without a disc and about 15 with a disc in

both are set to dhcp, but same if connected / not connected to network
the time from the logo to the home screen in xbmc can vary again (having a disc in certainly effects this)
lately xbmc seems to render the background image, start to scroll the menu and then wait until it knows what to render before scrolling the menu, graphics and rss feeds on.
much faster without a disc in
(assume its my custom home.xml thats causing this but delay is weird)
