What Monitor Do You Use?
Posted 17 September 2006 - 04:36 AM
Then I pondered..why? I mean, I have a sick desktop..worth well over 3 grand...I think its because that the only monitor I have for my desktop.. is my t.v. Its a 37in HD LCD.....its awesome..but, I like using my tv to watch..t.v. And with a laptop right on my bed, I can watch t.v. and be on a computer at the same time.
Yes, yes, my t.v. can do split screen, picture in picture, etc etc.. but still, it gets annoying.
So yeah, Im looking to get a monitor just for my desktop. I want one that supports DVI (Im sure almost all do these days). As for size, Im wanting either a 17in or 19in (unless I can get a better deal on something bigger). Speakers are unnecessary, but, I suppose they'd be useful (I'm still trying to figure out how to hook my desktop up to my 5.1 surround sound..)
If you all could give me some suggestions, what you have, what you recommend, where you got it, etc etc, it would be greatly appreciated.

I've had it for about 4 years now and I've never had a problem with it.
I don't remember the model number but they probably don't make it anymore.

NECs are also great and they come with a glossy finish that makes the image much brighter but, can reflect a lot of ambient light.
So, if you have a lot of lights, Viewsonic. If you don't, you can't go wrong with NEC or Viewsonic.

I use a 19" widescreen viewsonic VA1912wb and i love it, but its smaller than what u got now...:-\
I think i might just go with this one if i can. Seems pretty damn good. Seems pretty popular on newegg as well (link)
19"...widescreen..speakers...DVI...1400x900 resolution...Only $215...sounds pretty sexy to me!
